The brand new album from The Tongue is coming out on Elefant Traks/Inertia September 30th.
In 2006 it seemed like he came from nowhere, despite a well-earned rep as one of Australia's illest new battle MCs. His debut EP Bad Education included just 4 songs – 2 of which were put into high rotation on Triple J. His live shows helped the rep gain pace as non-believers were converted by his charismatic live presence.
It’s September 2007 and Elefant Traks are excited to reveal the debut LP from one of the freshest and most vibrant voices in a new generation of Australian hip hop artists. His name is The Tongue and the album Shock & Awe lives up to every ounce of hype he’s received to this date.
Working with names like Braintax, Dudley Perkins & Georgia Anne-Muldrow (Stones Throw), Ozi Batla and Jane Tyrrell (The Herd), Spit Syndicate and Jai Pyne (Paper Scissors) Shock & Awe is a cohesive and ambitious record set to truly consolidate The Tongue as a force to be reckoned with.
Album comes out on CD as well as a shortened EP on wax (6 tracks).
