PREORDER SHIPS LATE AUGUST MP3 DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE ON PURCHASE INCLUDES SIGNED A5 PRINT WITH ART BY JIMMY NICE One Day, the hip hop collective comprising Horrorshow, Spit Syndicate, Jackie Onassis and Joyride release their debut album Mainline on 1st August. It follows the buzzing lead single ‘Love Me Less’, currently a favourite with triple j and fans alike, helping it crash into the single charts. The key ingredient in the chemistry and cohesion of Mainline is that it was written and recorded together, bringing four different schedules into one focus, with the help of a few borrowed beach houses. The history of each act, in an industry and personal context, is the reason this is more than a "supergroup" and some thrown together songs - it's a complete album and a rich listening experience. It might prove to be one of the most razor-sharp and progressive hip hop records of recent times. This may be attributed to the competitive streak of the artists involved, but it's better explained by the incalculable sparks that fly when seven exceptional friends hone in on one goal. The four leading lights that form One Day have all achieved success in their own right. Horrorshow's recent album King Amongst Many landed at #2 on the ARIA chart, backing up their standing as one of the most successful live hip hop acts in the country. Spit Syndicate’s lauded third album Sunday Gentleman saw their profile jump off the back of radio favourites ‘Beauty In The Bricks’ and ‘Amazing’, consolidating them as one of the freshest duos in local hip hop. Joyride’s star is well and truly on the rise, collaborating with Drapht, Ta-ku and Wordlife. Jackie Onassis stormed onto the airwaves with ‘Crystal Balling’ and ‘Smoke Trails’, the duo then releasing their Juliette EP after airplay on BBC Radio 1 and US college radio. In addition to recording and touring, One Day have been drawing record crowds to their monthly residency at the Vic Hotel in Enmore, aptly named One Day Sundays. It's gone from a small Sunday afternoon event to a thriving block party rallying hip hop fans from Sydney and beyond. One Day will be touring the country launching Mainline in the biggest venues of their careers, playing individual sets followed by a collaborative finale with all seven members on stage together for the first time.
