Jayteehazard is a DJ and producer hailing from Newcastle, Australia.
With club residencies catering to all genres of music, Jayteehazard’s great gift is a wide knowledge of pop culture and a finely-tuned ear to the pulse of the dancefloor, knowing intimately what the crowd wants, while also dropping unexpected selections that give his sets true personality.
He’s spun sets alongside Public Enemy, Hilltop Hoods and Ice Cube — while also performing at Homebake, Groovin the Moo, Field Day and the Big Day Out.
His production has appeared on the Hilltop Hoods album Drinking from the Sun (platinum sales); as well as Briggs, Funkoars and Urthboy. He is producer and DJ in The Last Kinection, winners of five Deadly Awards and one of the leading lights in Indigenous and Australian music.
Despite his hip hop roots, his solo production takes on more electronic influences and is quickly gaining traction. His debut EP Cold Blue and a steady output of quality remixes has put him on the radar of international tastemakers and blogs. His anticipated second EP, Red Shift dropped in March 2015.
“Jaytee has mastered the tools of his trade and has developed an amazing ear that allows him to decipher current trends which he then is able to evolve into the next level kind of sound that we have here.” - Ian Irving (Ride The Sound Music Blog)
“Jaytee possesses a remarkable ability to pull his carefully formulated wave of sound very far away,
and then he smoothly crashes it back down in a vivid array of bass and percussion.” - Cole Ryan (Hillydilly.com)
“A five-track collection spanning free jazz (Waiting), instrumental hip hop (Knock & Run) and trap (Drift), with sprinklings of R&B occasionally intervening. Its title track is its strongest… its four minutes provide resolute proof that global acclaim may yet land down under.” - Dots & Dashes Music Blog
